THE IBIS MAHAVIDYA PROJECT
KALI is the first of 10 Maha Vidya wisdom godesses from the tantric tradition. The objective is to make a CD for each of the godesses.

In the Tantric tradition, the Goddesses are

1. Kali - Goddess of time, transformation and death
2. Tara - Goddess of grace and compassion
3. Sundari - Goddess of truth, beauty and harmony
4. Bhuvaneshvari - Goddess of space and knowledge
5. Bhairavi - Goddess of spiritual discipline and fervour
6. Chinnamasta - Goddess of instant transcendance
7. Dhumavati - Goddess of calamity, sorrow and death
8. Bagalamukhi - Goddess of hypnotising beauty who stops all evil
9. Matangi - Goddess of divine order
10. Kamalatmika(lakshmi) - Goddess of plenitude

All ten forms of the Goddess, whether gentle or terrifying, are worshiped as the universal Mother.

The 10 goddesses offer a fascinating and inspiring form to make music upon as each offer a whole universe of philosophy, moods, emotions, meditative states etc and moreover offer a deep path for spiritual development.
